He’s back.
Chris Ashton has gotten off to an absolute flyer in his first start for England in four years, bagging a wonderful try in the corner after just two minutes against the All Blacks.
Ashton was lured back to England by Sale over the summer and was drafted straight in Eddie Jones’ squad despite missing most of the Premiership season so far with a ban.
Jones said Ashton was picked to start against the All Blacks because he can ‘sniff out a try’, and it didn’t take long thanks to a wonderfully floated pass from scrumhalf Ben Youngs.
Farrell missed the conversion, but has since sunk a beautiful drop goal. With almost 20 minutes played England lead 8-0. Are we in for a shock win at Twickenham?
