Who’s your money on?
With the 2018/19 Heineken Champions Cup set to kick start in just over two weeks, we had a look this week at the five teams we thought would be the biggest challengers this season.
Understandably we, and most other people see Leinster once again as the team to beat – put who will provide the stiffest opposition for last year’s double champions?
Why not ask the bookies? According to Oddschecker, Leinster are 15/8 favourites. Two-time Champions Saracens (3/1) are next in line, following by – interestingly enough, Montpellier (7/1)? Sure Vern Cotter has a cracking side – but they don’t exactly have the best of European pedigrees.
The French side then are followed by Exeter (8/1) and Munster (as high as 14/1). Ulster are the outside chance, despite their impressive three from three start in the PRO14. They can be got at as high as a whopping 250/1.
A few other notable bets that might be worth a punt include Scarlets (20/1), Wasps (33/1) and last year’s finalists Racing 92 (16/1).
