Ah here.
Austin Healey isn’t afraid to say what’s on his mind, nor does he hold back on controversial comments. Generally though – he’s a good pundit to be fair, but some of what he comes out at times with can be pretty ludicrous.
The outspoken former England international recently claimed that his former club Leicester Tigers were in fact a ‘bigger club’ than double champions Leinster, after his suggestion that Stuart Lancaster would be a good candidate to replace Matt O’Connor at Welford Road was baulked at.
While the Tigers are a huge club, with a decorated history – it’s been a long time since they dined at the top table. While Leinster are arguably the greatest club side in the world right there, along with the Crusaders, having recently won a record-equalling fourth European Cup.
Leicester a bigger club than Leinster? Come on Austin. Even you can’t really believe that.
Are you mad? Leave Leinster?

Yep, definite step down. Record holders of the Heineken cup to Exeter’s whipping boys?
