Former Ulster outhalf Paddy Jackson made his long-awaited return to rugby yesterday evening, as his new side Perpignan defeated Top 14 rivals Toulouse in a pre-season friendly.
Jackson’s first game with the newly-promoted French side couldn’t have gone better – he started at ten and converted all three of Perpignan’s tries, ensuring a hard-fought 21-19 win.
The Ulsterman last to the the field while on Ireland duty during their summer Test with Japan in June of 2017.
Perpignan’s league opener meanwhile, takes place on August 25 against Paul O’Connell’s Stade Francais.
