Big changes.
France’s Top 14 is set for a major revamp ahead of next season, with 12 substitutes and a blue card set to be introduced.
The 2018/19 fixture list will be revealed at some stage today, with the new rule changes officially confirmed yesterday afternoon. The blue card will be used by the referee if he suspects amy player has a concussion.
If any player receives a blue card during a game – he must then take a 10-day rest period.
Matchday squads will remain at 23 but 12 subs including blood subs, injuries and concussions will be permitted.
The measures were recommended by the FFR-LNR Medical Observatory. The blue card was trialled in Federal 1 and the Top 8 women. The last new measure will also require clubs to have a minimum medical presence on 5 half-days per week.
