Down under.
The Irish Rugby lads are absolutely loving life at the moment and why shouldn’t they? The men in green landed in Australia over the weekend for a three-Test tour with the Wallabies, and are in the form of their lives.
After a dominant display in the November internationals, defeating the Springboks, Fiji and Argentina comfortably, Joe Schmidt’ men rocked up to the Six Nations with plenty of expectations. And boy did they deliver.
An incredible win in Paris thanks to the boot of Johnny Sexton was followed up by three bonus-point wins in-a-row at home against Italy, Wales and Scotland, before the men in green bullied England off the park in their own backyard.
Leinster followed that up with a PRO14 and Champions Cup double, while Munster reached the final four of both competitions. Not a bad season all things considered.
They’re now favourites heading into the upcoming series – and they’ve earned it. The same way they’ve earned a nice down day ahead of this weekend’s first Test in Brisbane to ease themselves into the next three weeks of action.
The boys went jet-skiing, played a bit of golf, went on a few road-trips, and made sure Andrew Porter was well fed on what looks like to have been a savage day out. Check out some of the clips below and keep an eye out for Sexton and Earls’ singing – and of course ‘The Pink Porter’.
