Long-term.
Munster and Ireland back-row forward Jack O’Donoghue looks set to miss a large chunk of next season after picking up a serious knee injury in the PRO14 semi-final defeat to Leinster.
O’Donoghue was stretchered off early in the game after falling awkwardly in a ruck, and following consultation with a specialist, underwent surgery last week for a knee ligament injury. Munster say he is expected to follow a “long-term rehabilitation programme.”
Meanwhile prop Jeremy Loughman will remain with the province for next season after signing a one-year contract extension.
Tyler Bleyendaal (neck), Chris Farrell (knee), Tommy O’Donnell (shoulder), Stephen Archer (pec) all also continue to rehab from their respective injuries.
