Ireland and Connacht centre Bundee Aki, who was set to captain the Barbarians this weekend against England, has been forced to pull out of their squad for Sunday’s game after picking up a minor injury.
Aki is joined by fellow New Zealander Charles Piutau who has also been forced to pull out of the Barbarians squad after picking up an injury that saw him miss Ulster’s Champions Cup play-off win over Ospreys this past Sunday.
Bu the Barbarians haven’t messed around in bringing in some reinforcements with Nili Latu, Josh Matavesi, Malakei Fekitoa, Finne Russell and Connacht’s Denis Buckley all joining their squad. Chris Ashton was also a late addition on Sunday after Toulon were knocked out of the Top 14 finals over the weekend.
The Barbarians take on England at Twickenham on Sunday for the Quilter Cup.
