Munster and Ireland winger Keith Earls has been named the 2018 Zurich Irish Players’ Player of the Year at the annual Rugby Players Ireland ceremony tonight.
The Moyross man beat off the likes of teammate Conor Murray as well as Champions Cup winners Tadhg Furlong and Johnny Sexton, who were all also nominated for the prestigious award.
The award is voted on by the players themselves, with Earls joining an elite list that includes the likes of Paul O’Connell and Brian O’Driscoll. Earls was also named Munster Player of the Year recently.
Ulster’s Jacob Stockdale was named as the Nevin Spence Young Player of the Year 2018, adding to his Six Nations Player of the Year award. Not a bad season to be an Irish winger!
