Was it a penalty?

Veteran James Haskell played his final game for Wasps at the Ricoh Arena this afternoon as Dai Young’s men secured a play-off spot with a win over Northampton.

But it was another departing player playing his final home game for the Coventry-based outfit  – Ulster target Danny Cipriani, who inspired them to victory, with an excellent display, pulling the strings at ten.

Wasps looked to be in control for large periods, but failed to put the Saints away. In the end, just seven points separated them in a 36-29 win for the home side.

After the game however, Haskell was pretty pissed off, after he gave away a penalty late in the game for what was deemed a ‘high tackle’ by the referee.

”I don’t know what’s happened to rugby?” Haskell said after game.

“It sounds like I’m fading out at the right time, it’s becoming a bit of a pathetic sport at the moment.”
