Yes please.
Australian Super Rugby side the Waratahs have unveiled a special edition ‘retro’ jersey set to be worn for their clash with the Queensland Reds this weekend.
The game is set to be a very special one, with the two sides set to meet at the Sydney Cricket Ground, instead of the Waratahs home ground, the Allianz Stadium, in a bid to emulate the famous ‘State of Origin’ series in Rugby League.
It will be the first time the two sides have met at the special venue in 35 years, with the retro jersey set to mark the occasion.
The only problem is the jersey isn’t going to be on sale to the general public.
“This jersey will not be available for retail however, the players will be giving their match-worn jersey to their nominated club or school who’ve had an impact on their rugby career.” The Tahs said on Instagram.
A lot of fans are hugely unhappy with this decision, and rightly so. The jersey is a thing of pure beauty. There’s been a huge backlash online, so they may be forced to rethink that decision and put the jersey on sale.
