Sale Sharks Release Statement On Denny Solomona Following Ban

Disappointed.

Sale Sharks and England winger Denny Solomona was last night banned for four weeks, after he was found guilty of using homophobic slur during a Premiership game against Worcester Warriors.

Solomona appeared before an RFU disciplinary hearing late on Wednesday, charged with conduct prejudicial to the interests of the union or the game, contrary to RFU Rule 5.12.

In response to the ban, Sale have released the following statement:

In the wake of last nights RFU disciplinary hearing following an incident that occurred during Sale Sharks’ Aviva Premiership round 18 fixture vs Worcester Warriors.

Although disappointed, Denny Solomona and the club have accepted the four-week ban handed down to Denny for conduct prejudicial to the interests of the union or the game.

Byron McGuigan will now move to number 14 for tonight’s Aviva Premiership home match against Wasps with TJ Ioane coming onto the replacements bench.
