All Blacks in sight.
Ireland have retained their spot as the number two ranked team in the world thanks to their 24-15 win over England at Twickenham on Saturday.
The Grand Slam champions overtook Eddie Jones’ side after round five of the Six Nations, and now find themselves almost three points clear of the ‘old enemy’ in the official World Rugby Rankings.
Ireland’s win gives them a boost of 1.27 points, while England have lost the exact same amount as a result of their defeat. More importantly it bridges the gap on New Zealand to just 4.88 points. Ireland are now less than five points behind the current World Champions.
If Ireland can get a series win in Australia this summer, they could be right on the All Blacks’ heels when they meet in Dublin this November.
