What a moment.
Peter O’Mahony led by example once again yesterday afternoon, with another warrior-like performance against England.
The Munster captain relaunched his career during this reverse fixture last year, after coming back from a serious knee injury at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, that kept him out of rugby for a full year.
It’s almost fitting that his rise has now couple full circle a year to the day, with a Grand Slam championship agains the same opposition. Just like players like Paul O’Connell before him, guys like Peter O’Mahony deserve to win a Grand Slam in their career.
But O’Mahony won’t be taking his medal home. Instead longstanding Irish fan Jennifer Malone will. You probably recognise her as she is one of Ireland’s biggest fans, and can been seen attending their training sessions on a regular basis.
Just pure class from O’Mahony and a day Jennifer will never forget.
