Another one bites the dust.
Ospreys scrumhalf Rhys Webb has been released from the Wales National Squad due to a knee injury.
In a statement released by the Welsh Rugby Union, their squad manager has revealed that “the injury will restrict Webb’s involvement in the campaign and further assessments are required to establish the best course of action.”
Uncapped Cardiff Blues scrum-half Tomos Williams has been called into the squad. Williams has been in previous Wales squads but is yet to make is competitive debut. Should Webb fail to recover in time for the latter rounds, he may have played his last game for his country, with a move to Toulon pending.
Wales head coach Warren Gatland is already set to be without the likes of Dan Biggar, Rhys Priestland, Jonathan Davies, Sam Warburton, Toby Faletau and Liam Williams for some or all of the Six Nations.
