No nonsense.
Scarlets made history last night with a famous 30-27 win over Toulon to book a spot in the knockout stages of the Champions Cup, for the first time in 11 years.
The Welsh region lost their first two games of the pool stages and looked to be down and out. But a resurgence in December saw them win their final four games to top the pool.
Last night’s clash was played in typical Scarlets fashion, a fast-paced, frantic affair with tries galore. Wayne Barnes was tasked with taking charge, and to be fair to him, did any excellent job.
Proof of this can be seen with how he dealt with former All Black Ma’a Nonu when he called for Scarlets to get a yellow card for repeat infringements.
“Let’s make it really clear, you come ask for a yellow card, you’ll get one. Understand?” Barnes told the centre.
Excellent officiating, on a wonderful night for Scarlets.
