“One of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make”
It was revealed this week that All Blacks and Highlanders playmaker Lima Sopoaga had agreed a massive deal to move to England with Dai Young’s Wasps.
The news has sent shockwaves across the rugby world, with Sopoago just 26-years-old and an integral member of Steve Hansen’s current All Blacks squad.
Sopoaga will leave at the end of the 2018 season, meaning he has one full campaign left with the Highlanders. He will however, be ineligible for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Ahead of his move he posted his classy message.
His club the Highlanders, then posted this in response.
.@LimaSopoaga came to us as a 19yo in ‘11 and has been a significant contributor to our club over the past 7 seasons – we’re looking forward to one last season in ‘18 before he heads overseas! Let’s make it good ‘un #HighlandersANDyou pic.twitter.com/zwXgWMDCv5
