Leinster back-row Josh van der Flier put in one of his finest performances in a blue jersey against Connacht yesterday, smashing a tackling record in the process.
The 24-year-old made an incredible 34 tackles, missing none, in a simply superb performance yesterday as Leinster secured a huge win over Connacht at the RDS.
Leo Cullen’s men managed to hold on for a 21-18 victory, despite a 28-phase barrage attack from Connacht in the final minutes, with van der Flier’s defensive efforts playing a huge role.
Van der flier has made 59 tackles and claimed eight turnovers in his eight outings for Leinster this season. No doubt Joe Schmidt will be keeping close tabs on the openside.
