Something had to change.
Shane Horgan has defended Sean O’Brien’s comments in relation to Warren Gatland and his Lions coaching team in New Zealand this summer.
O’Brien believes the Lions overtrained ahead of the Test games, and questioned Rob Howley’s ability to lead the attack line on tour, claiming Johnny Sexton and Owen Farrell took the reigns ahead of the 2nd Test.
Horgan believes what O’Brien said wasn’t controversial and that the Leinster back-row isn’t the kind of player “who likes to court controversy.” He believes O’Brien simply gave an honest assessment of the tour.
O’Brien’s comments that they overtrained were not at all controversial according to Hogan, and his comments about Farrell and Sexton are clearly evident in the final two Test matches. Have a watch below.
