Not a happy man.
Lions head coach Warren Gatland is reportedly furious with flanker Sean O’Brien and his comments this week about his coaching team according to Gavin Mairs in The Telegraph.
Gatland is apparently set to seek a meeting with O’Brien in an attempt to clarify the reasoning behind his sensational comments. O’Brien maintains the Lions would have won the series were it not for the coaches and Gatland is said to be both surprised and disappointed by his comments.
O’Brien was a member of the senior player’s group in New Zealand, being a veteran of two tours, and their is reportedly a sense of frustration among the Lions that he did not speak up while on tour.
The Lions are also said to be strongly disputing O’Brien’s comments that they did a triple training session on the Thursday before the first Test. No doubt it’s going to be interesting to see how this one pans out.
