Lions Star Gives Strong Indication He Will Move Clubs At The End Of The Season

Lions back-row Ross Moriarty looks set to leave Gloucester at the end of the season, with a move back to Wales on a dual-contract his likeliest destination.

Moriarty is a prime candidate to move home on a contract part funded by the Welsh Rugby Union after breaking into the national set-up for the Six Nations, before going on to represent the British & Irish Lions this summer.

While his tour didn’t work out as planned due to injury, he is very highly rated by head coach Warren Gatland who wants to bring the young loose forward home. Moriarty recently spoke to Gloucestershire Live and all signs point to a move away from the cherry and whites when his contract expires at the end of the season.

“Personally I’m here for the season and I’m not sure what’s going to happen in the future but I’m here to play for this team and that’s what I want to do.

“I want to achieve something with this team and this group of boys and I’ll play the best I can, I’ll give as much as I can for the rest of the season and we’ll see what happens when the time comes.

“It’s always nice to have options and I’d be lying if I didn’t think it was flattering because who doesn’t want options?”

“But I’m here for the season, that’s what my mind’s on and I’m just looking forward to playing for Gloucester again this season.”
