Toulon have announced the signing of versatile back Jonah Placid, who will join the Top 14 club from Super Rugby side the Rebels.
The 22-year-old, who has played for Australia U20 in previous seasons, puts pen to paper on a two-year contract with the French giants.
Placid operates mainly at fullback, and is expected to replace the outgoing Leigh Halfpenny.
The Lions fullback did not have his contract renewed at the end of the season and will begin his search for a new club in the coming days as he returns home from New Zealand.
