Connacht have bolstered their front-row ranks with the addition of Munster prop Peter McCabe
The 25-year-old had a short loan spell with Connacht back in January, but was recalled before he made a senior appearance for Pat Lam’s men. He did however, do enough in that period for Connacht to sign him up on a one-year deal under new incoming head coach Kieran Keane.
McCabe native played a pivotal role in Munster’s British and Irish Cup triumph last year as well as featuring four times in the Guinness PRO12. His arrival at the Sportsground follows the capture of second-row Gavin Thornbury and scrum-half James Mitchell from Sale.
“He has huge potential as a young Irish prop and will add even more competition to our front row options,” Duffy added.
“I’m really looking forward to working with him next season.”
Commenting on his move to Galway, McCabe said:
“It is a privilege to sign for Connacht Rugby, a club that epitomises pride in the jersey and who play an exciting and expansive brand of rugby that I feel will suit my game. I look forward to pushing myself over the coming season.”
