It looks like rugby has it’s first €1,000,000 player.
Louis Picamoles’ move back to Montpellier is a done deal according to Midi Olympique. The French star is set to become rugby’s first €1m player with Northampton set to bank to massive sum due to the back-row having two years remaining on his 500k a year deal.
Picamoles has apparently signed a three-year deal to return to France and join Montpellier, leaving Northampton after just one season.
He will join the likes of Aaron Cruden and Ruan Pienaar who will also be heading to Montpellier next season, with Vern Cotter taking over as head coach.
