Saracens have done it.
English giants Saracens have broken Clermont hearts and defended their European crown in a thrilling affair at Murrayfield this evening. In a game that was played at Test match intensity, Saracens always looked to be in control, despite Clermont coming out firing in the second-half.
One player who really stood out was Lions back-row Billy Vunipola, who was awarded the man of the match award for his incredible performance. 20 carries, 72 metres made and 12 gainline successes. He also came up with this brilliant one-liner after the game.
“I want to thank the Lord Almighty for the strength he gave me today. And apologise because I think we’re going to be drunk tonight.”
