The Guinness PRO12 awards took place last night.
Nigel Owens was among the winners at the ceremony last night as he was awarded the Guinness PRO12 Chairman’s Award for his outstanding contribution to the Championship.
The 45-year-old former World Referee of the Year is the most experienced referee in the Guinness PRO12, taking charge of hist first game on August 30, 2002 which saw Border Reivers take on Connacht.
Among those in attendance was former professional, turned pundit Luke Fitzgerald, who had a very public disagreement with Owens last month over the Welshman’s behaviour on the rugby pitch, which Fitzgerald wasn’t a fan of.
The two however, made up last night in a brilliant photo thanks to Munster legend Alan Quinlan. Apparently they didn’t quite make up. It was more of a case of Fitzgerald eating humble pie!
I just forced these 2 to make up, actually I just got @lukefitz11 to eat humble pie 😂😂 @Nigelrefowens pic.twitter.com/8TH7J8Z9sB
