Rugby has come a long way.
The last video in Ricoh Rugby Change Series examines how the changing physicality of players has impacted the game over the years and what this means for the players in terms of their diet, fitness regimes, injury prevention and recovery.
Since the dawn of the professional era, rugby has grown at an exponential rate, and with that the players have too. Players are becoming fitter, stronger and bigger almost every year, but with that comes the added danger of serious injury.
Professionals must now adhere to strict diets, with injury prevention and recovery becoming almost more important that the actual skills on the pitch.
