From baby Springbok to Lion.
The rise and rise of CJ Stander over the past couple of seasons has been nothing short of incredible. The Munster and Ireland star has won umpteen MOTM awards and numerous accolades for his remarkable performances and shows no signs of slowing down.
Stander came to Munster back in 2012, having almost quit the sport entirely, after being told by South Africa that he wasn’t big enough to make it on the professional stage.
After a number of years hard work, Stander became one of Munster’s most important players and now one of Ireland’s. He’s one of the first names on the team sheet for both sides and has now been rewarded with a British & Irish Lions call-up.
It’s a truly inspirational story and what makes it even more special is how humble he remains. Congratulations CJ. You deserve it.
