Alex Cuthbert has revealed how he wanted to show people what he is made of after a difficult week, as he reflected on an excellent individual performance for the Cardiff Blues yesterday.
The Wales winger has come under fire this week following last Saturday’s Six Nations defeat to England at the Principality Stadium, with the likes of Shane Williams and Stuart Barnes launching stinging attack on the players and his selectors.
But Cuthbert delivered the perfect response as he helped the Blues to a resounding 57-20 PRO12 victory over Treviso, having been released to his region.
He set up one try with a sensational run down the right and then produced a stunning solo effort from near half-way in the final play of the game.
“Obviously I’ve had a bit of a tough week and this game has been the highlight of it,” Cuthbert said on the Blues’ Facebook page.
“I just want to get back out there, do as well as I can and just show people what I’m actually made of.
“Hopefully today, I did that. It’s the first game I’ve probably enjoyed for a while and it was great to get a result like that.”
