The Tongan Thor has arrived.
Taniela Tupou, otherwise known as the ‘Tongan Thor’ is getting ready for his first proper Super Rugby season.
The 20 year-old prop is one of the hottest prospects in world rugby after bursting onto the scene thanks to a highlight video of him playing schools rugby.
He was snapped up by the Queensland Reds and has been learning his craft with the Super Rugby franchise ever since. He’s set to play a big role in their season this year, and will benefit hugely from the addition of Stephen Moore to their front-row.
The season hasn’t even begun and Tupou is already making his presence known by bumping off All Black Liam Messam into the air at the Brisbane Tens. We can’t wait to see this man in Super Rugby this year.
The only problem is he’s set to miss the start of the season, after being banned for two weeks following a head butt on Messam, which can be seen in the clip!
