Wales’ Team Announcement Takes A Twist That Could Have Massive Implications

Rob Howley delayed his team announcement today for their crucial round two Six Nations clash with England at the Principality.

The interim head coach was due to name his team at 11am, but delayed his announcement until lunchtime, in order to assess the fitness of George North and Dan Biggar who both picked up knocks in the Italy game.

Biggar limped off at half-time against Conor O’Shea’s side, while George North picked up a leg injury, yet stayed on the pitch despite the fact that he was clearly struggling. The Lions winger looked very uncomfortable as he ran in a 50m try in the second-half.

When Howley finally named his team, it seemed all was well as both were named in the starting line-up. Or so it seems. The BBC are now reporting that both North and Biggar are not 100% to start the game, and could be late withdrawals.

They will apparently be given until the day of the game to prove their fitness.
