Brian O’Driscoll and Warren Gatland have a bit of a troubled past.
The British & Irish Lions coach famously dropped O’Driscoll in 2013 for the last Test against Australia, sparking an absolute frenzy and a #JusticeForBOD movement. We were the people behind the Facebook page that racked up over a 100,000 likes overnight, it was unbelievable.
O’Driscoll however, clearly isn’t one to hold a grudge, with the two teaming up for an absolutely brilliant cause. The British and Irish Lions have partnered with Temple Street Children’s Hospital for the 2017 tour to New Zealand. For the first time, the Lions will officially support the charity, which makes a difference to seriously ill children across Ireland.
Gatland & O’Driscoll will be guests of honour at a fundraising dinner at the Mansion House, Dublin on 3 March, and recently paid a visit to the kids in the hospital. The delight in their faces, will no doubt put a smile on yours.
