This is a massive blow for England and Eddie Jones.
England forward Chris Robshaw will undergo surgery on his left shoulder on Monday and faces a lengthy lay-off. The Harlequins back-row has been heralded as England’s best player in 2016 by Eddie Jones, but is now set to miss their entire defence of the Six Nations.
He is expected to be out of competitive action for around 12 weeks. Robshaw suffered the injury while playing for Quins against Worcester and was unable to take part in England’s training camp in Brighton.
The former England captain will now be out until April and will miss some key games for both club and country.
Robshaw missed the Big Game against Gloucester back on December 27, then played against Worcester days later where his shoulder flared up once more.
England are already set to be without Billy and Mako Vunipola for the opening game of the Six Nations against France, while lock George Kruis is a concern.
