This weekend’s game is going to be a strange one by all accounts.
Munster will return to Paris this weekend to the site of their late head coach’s passing. The southern province were due to lock horns with Racing back in October before the devastating discovery.
In the build-up all the talk surrounded the return of Ronan O’Gara. The game was set to be his first game going up against Munster, going up against his old teammate and captain. It was set to be a very special occasion.
That day ended up being more special than we could ever imagine, but not for the reasons we were hoping. Fast forward a couple of months and now that fabled return is finally about to happen as Munster travel to Paris.
Tributes are planned for Foley in what promises to be an emotional encounter between the two. O’Gara will want to win, given the nature of competitor he is, but there’s no doubt he will feel it too, in fact he’s already feeling it.
@DanPitchside i never saw that.. Thanks.. means a lot.. holding back the tears at my desk now.#beautifulteammunster
