Munster will play three Champions Cup games in the next three weeks starting with Racing 92 this weekend.
The reason for this is as a result of this weekend’s game being rescheduled as a result of Anthony Foley’s untimely death. Munster face Racing in Paris this weekend, followed by a trip to Scotsdoun to take on table-toppers Glasgow, before rounding up their pool stage campaign by hosting Racing in Thomond Park.
Rassie Erasmus’ side have a real chance of not only qualifying, but topping the group and earning a home quarter with Racing already out and having already beaten Glasgow home and away this season in the Champions Cup and PRO12.
The South African has been lucky with injuries this season, but will be forced to shuffle things around in Paris with Darren Sweetnam ruled out for the next six weeks, and Tommy O’Donnell looking like he won’t recover in time for the game this weekend.
Thankfully however, Munster have retained the services of Jaco Taute who is also an accomplished fullback and have welcomed back Francis Saili in recent weeks, giving Munster plenty of options regardless.
Here’s the side we would pick for this weekend’s crucial clash.
1. Dave Kilcoyne
2. Niall Scannell
3. John Ryan
4. Donnacha Ryan
5. Jean Kleyn
6. Peter O’Mahony (C)
7. Jack O’Donoghue
8. CJ Stander
9. Conor Murray
10. Tyler Bleyendall
11. Keith Earls
12. Rory Scannell
13. Francis Saili
14. Simon Zebo
15. Jaco Taute
