All Blacks Star Visits European Club To Finalise Deal

Aaron Cruden paid a visit to Montpellier recently to finalise his move to the Top 14 club.

The New Zealander’s contract is set to expire at the end 2017 and reportedly sent out his agent to look for potential suitors in Europe earlier this season. Cruden is frustrated at his lack of chances in the national side due to the phenomenal form of Beauden Barrett.

Fellow Kiwi Vern Cotter is set to take over at the big-spending French side at the end of the season, with Cruden set to be his first blockbuster signing, in a deal worth a reported €750,000 per season.

Cotter himself will become the highest paid coach in the world when he takes over, in a deal worth a reported €1m a season for the current Scotland head coach. Cruden, who most recently played his club rugby with the Chiefs, will leave New Zealand, despite All Blacks boss Steve Hansen calling for him to reconsider leaving the national set-up.

What do you think of Cruden possibly leaving New Zealand for France? Is it the right move for him?
