Another Blow For Warren Gatland As Third High Profile Coach Turns Down Role

Warren Gatland is quickly running out of options.

Eddie Jones and Joe Schmidt have both ruled themselves out of next summer’s British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand, stating that they will be focused on leading their respective national sides on their own tours.

Both coaches have beaten the All Blacks and are seen as two of the very best in the world, so not having them play any part in the Lions tour will be seen as a major blow to their chances of beating New Zealand.

It’s now been revealed that a third man, soon to be Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend, has also turned down the role as he hast stated that he will be fully committed to his new job as he takes Scotland down under next summer on a tour of Australia.

Gatland must now go back to the drawing board once again, with interim Wales coach Rob Howley tipped to be next in line.
