All Black flanker Sam Cane has escaped any sanction for his tackle on Ireland’s Robbie Henshaw.
A disciplinary committee heard evidence and reviewed footage of the incident before deciding that Cane didn’t have a case to answer for, concluding there was no foul play or intent involved.
Henshaw was left concussed by the hit in the opening stages of the All Blacks win over Ireland in Dublin and was unable to take any further part in the match.
Malakai Fekitoa’s was earlier suspended for one week for his challenge on Simon Zebo. His suspension started at two weeks but was dropped to one due to a number of mitigating factors, including Fekitoa’s acknowledgement of wrongdoing and his previously clean record.
The decision means Cane will be free to play against France this weekend should he be cleared fit. Fekitoa will miss the clash in Paris.
