Donnacha Ryan may not play for the Irish Rugby team ever again, but perhaps Martin O’Nell might be on the phone after the former Munster look showed off his footballing skills over the weekend.
With no PRO14 or Aviva Premiership action on over the weekend, most of us were glued to the Top 14 to fill our rugby void with some cracking fixtures.
Montpellier defeated Clermont thanks to a last-gasp try by Nemani Nadolo, but it was Racing’s win over Castres that had everyone talking, thanks to Ryan’s superb assist.
Since returning to full fitness, Ryan has been a revelation for the French giants, and has added some lovely footballing skills to his repertoire. His kick-through set-up Juan Imhoff for a crucial first-half try on the way to an 18-13 win away from home.
