Englishman Wayne Barnes is set to referee next month’s Champions Cup final between Leinster and Racing 92 in Bilbao.
Barnes has only refereed one other previous final, taking charge of the all French affair between four-time champions Toulouse and Biarritz back in 2010.
He acted as one of JP Doyle’s assistants for Munster’s semi-final clash with Racing last weekend, and also took charge of Racing’s quarter final fixture with Clermont.
Wayne Barnes will referee the Champions Cup final. Will only be his second European Cup final after Biarritz v Toulouse in 2010.
