Rassie Erasmus has made it clear that he is not in the running to take the top job in South Africa.
The Springboks are set to relieve under-fire coach Allister Coetzee of his duties in the coming weeks after a disastrous season, with Erasmus and Munster’s defence coach Jacques Nienaber said to be top of SARU’s wish-list to replace him.
Erasmus however has now confirmed that his future lies with Munster, where is is in the first of a three-year deal.
Speaking at a media briefing in Limerick, Erasmus admitted that the South African set-up is going through a rough patch, but insisted that he’s ‘definitely not in the mix there.’
“There is so much speculation with things normally at this time of the year with players, but I just think the South African set-up is obviously going through a little bit of a rough patch which they will definitely get out of, I am pretty sure they will.
“When that happens there is always a lot of speculation around different coaches. I am definitely not in the mix there.”
Fantastic news for Munster fans.
