What a try.
The Barbarians took on the Springboks today in an absolute thriller at Wembley stadium. South Africa came from 31-19 down with nine minutes left to draw 31-31 with the BaaBaas in a 10-try thriller that lived up to all expectations.
The Springboks were facing defeat in their European tour opener before centres Francois Venter and Rohan Janse van Rensburg both crossed the Barbarians’ try-line in this non-cap clash. The BaaBaas however were in their usual form throughout the game, running the ball at every opportunity, running in some brilliant scores.
Former Glasgow winger Taqele Naiyaravoro was the standout player for the Barbarians, grabbing a try and the man of the match award. The pick of the tries however came from Kiwi scrumhalf, Andy Ellis who finished off a vintage Barbarians length of the field try.
