WATCH: Tadhg Furlong On His Fanatical Rugby Mad Grannies

What a legend.

Tadhg Furlong was once again the talk of Irish television last night as he appeared on The Late Late Show with Ryan Tubridy.

Fresh from winning the Grand Slam with Ireland at Twickenham last Saturday, Furlong brought the Triple Crown along with him, but unfortunately forgot to bring his Six Nations winners medal. And his man of the match medal, after forgetting them in his granny’s house.

“”I called over to pick them up today, and two cups of tea later I forgot them on his kitchen table. Sorry.” Furlong said.

Turns out she’s now a massive rugby fan, and watches all his games. And in typical Irish granny fashion…

“She always has the Lourdes candle lighting beside the telly!”

“And every time there’s a scrum she has the holy water out and she’s throwing it at the telly, just in case I get hurt.”

His other granny in Cork is also ‘fanatical’ about rugby…

“Granny in Cork was recently in hospital, and she had the nurse wheeling her around two floors trying to find a television to watch a rugby match.”

“So ya, two fanatical grannies.”
