Connacht are champions.
The western province have crowned an amazing season with the PRO12 title. There was always only going to be one winner today as Connacht took their rivals Leinster apart from start to finish with their amazing brand of rugby we’ve become all so familiar with.
Captain John Muldoon was coming through 13 years ago when there was talk of dismantling Connacht. Today he is a champion.
After their historic 20-10 victory over Leinster in the Pro 12 final, Muldoon was lost for words amidst the tears and the raw emotion and even revealed that he was only too happy to cry, even if it meant losing 20 quid to the lads.
“We had a bet earlier in the year – 20 euros – that if we won it, I would cry. It’s the best 20 quid I’ll ever spend.”
