It’s been an emotional goodbye for Paul O’Connell. A hamstring avulsion in the French game prematurely ended the captain’s Ireland career and he could only watch as they got knocked out by Argentina.
He may not have got the send-off he deserved but the Irish rugby squad have done their bit in revealing just how much he really means to the Irish rugby set-up.
There are some fantastic answers, not least Simon Zebo’s assertion that he is probably the best Irish rugby player there has ever been.
They are strong words, but they aren’t the only kind comments coming from the team.
