We’d like to say Ireland are waking up as Six Nations Grand Slam champions this morning, but that probably isn’t the correct way of putting it.

Yes Ireland are Grand Slam champions thanks to their 24-15 victory over England at Twickenham yesterday afternoon. But waking up as champions? Well you’d have to go to sleep first for that to be a reality.

Judging by some of the stories the players are putting up on Instagram this morning, there wasn’t much sleep last night, and would you blame them? To win a Grand Slam in your rivals backyard, on Paddy’s Day of all days. Moments like that don’t come along very often.
