Extended highlights.

Leinster opened their Investec Champions Cup campaign with a convincing 48–23 victory over Clermont at Stade Marcel-Michelin on Saturday.

Leo Cullen’s side produced a dominant second-half display to secure a bonus-point win in France, scoring seven tries against their familiar European rivals.

Tadhg Furlong and Dan Sheehan crossed before the break, but Clermont held a narrow 16–15 lead at half-time.

Leinster took control after the restart, with Sam Prendergast scoring an excellent try and Sheehan adding his second. A penalty try and further scores from Jack Conan and Tommy O’Brien completed an impressive afternoon for the visitors.

The victory did come with an injury concern, however, as Conan was forced off with a shoulder problem after touching down.
