CJ Stander can do no wrong.
The South-African born backrow was the man featured in Sky Sport’s player mic for Munster’s bonus point win over Edinburgh in Thomond Park, and he didn’t disappoint. Munster’s stand in captain last season, demonstrated why he was the man tasked with leading the Munster pack.
His singling out of Edinburgh openside flanker Hamish Watson was especially popular among viewers, with the Irish international encouraging Munster flanker Jack O’Donoghue to go at Watson due to his belief that the Scottish back-rower had no interest in tackling O’Donoghue.
