Chris Ashton isn’t the most popular of rugby players. The Saracens wing recently returned for an extended spell out following a ban for an eye gouge on Ulster’s Luke Marshall in the Champions Cup.

Former Ireland and Leinster centre Brian O’Driscoll however, has jumped to the defence of the Saracens wing on BT Sport’s Rugby Tonight show this week.

“Ashton is the most selfless player I know.”

“He may not be popular in parts of this country, but he would be very popular amongst his team-mates.”

The glowing reference however, didn’t stop the former Lions captain from brilliantly taking the p*ss out of Ashton with his version of the ‘Ash Splash’. Check out the video below in all it’s wonderful glory.
