Jonny May found out pretty quickly that Peter Stringer has some big teammates at Sale.
The Gloucester centre shoved the former Ireland and Munster scrum half on his backside during the sides’ Premiership tie on Friday night and it didn’t take long for reinforcements to arrive.
May’s Gloucester side eventually went on to beat Stringer’s Sale Sharks on the night 23-19 to lift them one place above the northern club in the table.
Although it’s not until next April, the second and final Premiership clash between the pair this season may now just have a bit more of an edge to it than usual after this incident.
